CIP-SOC Mapping for Alumni Outcomes

Emsi Burning Glass assigns occupations to profiles based on the most recent job title and description listed. We then compare the SOC code to the CIP code your institution provided and use our custom CIP-SOC mapping to determine whether the job is in or out of the field of study. The mapping is based on the NCES CIP-SOC crosswalk and the experience of Emsi Burning Glass’s Professional Services team. In cases where no determination is possible, web reports indicate “out of field.”
