Due to the implementation of our new in-house dataset, customers can expect to see some changes in NAICS classification, however the changes will be more reflective of job postings data. As an example, in the past Uber would frequently show up under Software Publishers even though the postings themselves were for Delivery Drivers. For this reason, most changes you may notice are likely due to reclassification of a company to a more appropriate industry based on both various government sources in addition to hand-curated NAICS coding.
We currently classify companies at a 6 digit NAICS level when available, falling back to a 2 digit NAICS level only when unable to infer a 6 digit code. While we understand a company may operate under more than one NAICS code, at this time we only classify the company within the appropriate primary industry code.
