2020 OES was released on 3/31/21 and incorporated into EmsiĀ Burning Glass’sĀ 2021.2 datarun (released 4/16/21). Emsi Burning Glass uses OES for staffing patterns and as the source for occupation earnings data. OES data is collected from a universe of about 1.1 million businesses over the course of three years. Reports are submitted by a subsection of the businesses every November and May. Each annual release of OES is based on the latest six May and November panels.
2020 OES is based on panels from November 2017, May 2018, November 2018, May 2019, November 2019, and May 2020. This means that only one of the six panels will be affected by COVID. Therefore, the impact of COVID on 2020 OES data will be slight. 2021 OES, due to be released in Spring 2022, will contain more information from 2020 and 2021 and thus more information on the impact of COVID on the US economy.
For more details from OES, see their writeup on the impact of COVID on their estimates.
